Continution of the “Pau” story…
Yeah guess what… Was looking back at my blog when I suddenly remembered that there’s more to tell about my "Pau" story… (Reference… Blog No. 20!! Haha… so formal…)
Was back home when my mom told me the story… It seemed the mistake that I made so long then turned out to be quite a joke with my parents and my mom’s friend, so they always use "Dau" (Knife) to substitute "Pau" (Pau? Haha…) in real life. The joke went a bit far fetched though… See the conversation belows and judge yourself… Haha…
My mom’s friend, Aunty called my Dad from the market to ask whether they wanna buy paus to eat…
Aunty : "Hello Mr Tan? Eh, 2day the "Daus" (Knives, which they understand between
themselves that it’s supposed to mean the paus!) very nice, do you want to
get some?"
My Dad : "Oh, no need. Thanks for asking!"
Aunty : "Okay then!"
The Pau seller : "HUH? (overheards the telephone conversation) What knives??? I
don’t sell knives!!!"
Aunty : "Uh……………………………….. Nothing!"
Haha… I can imagine the puzzled look on the pau seller’s face and the embarrassed look on the aunty’s face… Hahahahaha…
Here’s the culprit again… I can imagine it laughing at all of us… Wakakaka (Evil laughter…)
